Biography

Saj Kumar

Saj Kumar is a senior manufacturing and AI leader at Microsoft APAC, recognised for shaping how industrial and automotive companies modernise R&D and factory operations with advanced AI. With more than three decades at the intersection of engineering and enterprise software, he has guided semiconductor, electronics, automotive and industrial manufacturers across Asia in accelerating innovation through machine learning, generative AI and intelligent operations.

His career spans pioneering work in algorithmic optimisation, simulation-driven engineering and complex production-schedule automation — capabilities that now power today's AI-enabled R&D and design workflows. At Microsoft he partners with engineering and operations executives to rethink product development, unlock siloed data, modernise OT environments and build AI-ready digital ecosystems that connect engineering to the factory floor.

Prior to Microsoft, Saj held senior regional leadership roles at SAP, Oracle and i2 Technologies, where he helped drive early industrial IoT adoption and advanced applications across Asia Pacific & Japan.
